Asia Logistics & Supply Chain Council was registered under the Societies Act 1984 on 4 October 2016.
The mission of ALSCC is to establish a body in Asia that is professional, educated and informed on logistics and supply chain management for the benefit of stakeholders in the logistics and supply chain industry in Asia.
The scope of ALSCC and how it adds value to industry is to:
to create and strengthen relationships between the industry, government and educational community to harmonize the growth of the logistics and supply chain industry.
to address current issues and challenges in the transport and logistics sector, while encouraging healthy dialogue in every sector.
to create an environment where experts and policymakers in the logistics and supply chain can meet, discuss and learn to become a catalyst in generating inter-industry solutions.
to generate interest in students in logistics and supply chain subjects by publishing educational and reference materials for use in academic studies and research.
to encourage members to gain greater knowledge through forums, seminars, research and certification programs focusing on achieving excellence in logistics and supply chain.
Study Visit from Rotterdam Mainport University of Applied Sciences
A group of 16 students and 2 lecturers from Rotterdam Mainport University of Applied Sciences made a study visit to the Malaysia University of Science & Technology from 16.11.2018 to 23.11.2018. The group also made technical visits to Maskargo, Westport and the Healthcare Distribution Center of DKSH Malaysia. Group discussions with ALSCC industry members were also organised and students had an enjoyable 8 days before they flew back to Rotterdam on the 23.11.2018.
The 1st Annual General Meeting for ALSCC
The 1st annual general meeting for ALSCC was held 30th October 2018 at 10.00 a.m in the Senate Room of Malaysia University of Science and Technology. 18 members attended and several resolutions were passed. A new committee was proposed and seconded by attending members with the new 2018/2019 committee being made up of:
